9/11 Memorial Ride on Sunday, August 30th, 2015

This Sunday (8/30) – from approximately noon to 1pm the 9/11 Memorial Ride will be coming thru Redding.  The ride originates in Norwalk then travels thru Wilton, Redding, Bethel, Newtown, Monroe, Trumbull and ends in Bridgeport. Each year there are thousands of motorcycles which ride to remember 9/11.  From beginning to end the ride take about 25-30 minutes to clear any one location. In Redding the ride enters from Route 7 in Wilton onto Route 107 where it continues the entire length of Route 107, across Route 53 to Route 58 where it heads into Bethel. ABSENTEE BALLOTING FOR NOVEMBER 3, 2015 MUNICIPAL ELECTION

INFORMATION REGARDING ABSENTEE BALLOTING FOR NOVEMBER 3, 2015 MUNICIPAL ELECTION  ABSENTEE BALLOTS for the Municipal Election to be held in the Town of Redding on November 3, 2015 will be available at the Town Clerk’s Office starting Monday, October 5, 2015. Absentee balloting is available for those individuals who cannot vote in person for one of the following reasons: active service in the armed forces; absence from town during all hours of the referendum; physical disability; illness; or religious tenets. An application must first be completed, and then the ballot will be issued to the applicant in person or mailed to the address indicated to on the application. A ballot cannot be issued in person to anyone other than the applicant. A voter can apply in person for an absentee ballot at the Town Clerk’s Office and vote at that time. An Application for Absentee Ballot may also be mailed to an applicant upon request, or can be downloaded by clicking here. Mail completed, dated and signed application to: Town Clerk, P.O. 55th Mark Twain Library Book Fair – Labor Day Weekend!

Click here for flyer:  MTL Book Fair 2015 Opening Day Friday, SEPTEMBER 4TH  REDDING, CT, June 23, 2015 – Mark Twain once said, “Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience” are the keys to an ideal life.  Find all three in abundance during the Mark Twain Library’s 55th Annual Book Fair, one of the oldest and largest and one of the Library’s signature fundraisers. For four days over Labor Day weekend, from Friday, September 4 to Monday, September 7, the Redding Community Center on Lonetown Road is transformed by an army of volunteers into a “storehouse” of bargain-priced books, with miles of items – nearly 60,000 – all organized and categorized for convenient shopping. “We are proud to say our book fair has the reputation as one of the best,” said Ginny Beasley, co-chair of the Library’s Book Fair Committee. “People travel from Maine to Maryland to find the bargains and the rare treasures that the Mark Twain Library Book Fair always has in abundance.” Opening day is Friday, September 4, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.  During the first hour, (from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.), there is a $15 admission charge and tickets for that hour will be available starting at 7 a.m. (Book dealers start lining up the night before for the opportunity to get first dibs!).
