Board of Ethics

The Code of Ethics of the Town of Redding was adopted on June 22, 1973. It was most recently amended on October 15, 2001.

The Board of Selectmen appoints members of the Board of Ethics to investigate “allegations of unethical conduct, corrupting influence for illegal activities levied against any municipal officer or employee.”

The Board of Ethics prepares a report of its findings for the Board of Selectmen who “shall take such action as it may deem appropriate.” The Rules and Regulations of the Board of Ethics were adopted on February 25, 1974. It was most recently amended on September 15, 2001.

The Rules and Regulations specify the procedures and content of a complaint. Click the link below for complete Rules and Regulations.

A complaint shall include, among other items, the following:

1. Must be in writing, dated and signed
2. Must specify by section and paragraph the applicable provisions of the Town of Redding Code of Ethics
3. Must be submitted with seven (7) copies
