Community Assets Network: Connecting for the Future

For Easton, Redding and Region 9 School Districts and Community-at-large

Dear Community Member:

As a task force representing Easton-Redding schools, local organizations, and area businesses, we are working to establish a Community Assets Map that will identify all resources within and around our communities. The intent is to locate and mobilize our community assets in order to build relationships that lead us to a purposeful collaboration.

In the short term, such a map could provide students in Easton, Redding, and Region 9 with community awareness and valuable contacts, perhaps leading to opportunities for career speakers, mentors and advisors, volunteer sites, internships, and job shadowing experiences.

Over time, it is anticipated that schools and students may be of service to the community and its organizations, businesses, and professionals. We believe that valuable connections can be made between and among various constituencies, who, at present, may not even be aware of the opportunities afforded through collaboration.

Please respond to our brief survey by visiting www.er9.org or just click this direct link whether or not you choose to be identified as a community asset. We need your help so that the Community Assets Map and accompanying database will truly represent all the talent, energy, and generosity so present in our communities.

Members of the task force welcome your questions and suggestions. Your feedback may be directed to any member of the team or to CAN@er9.org and (203) 938-2508, ext. 1586.
