EARTH DAY 2020
Celebrating 50 Years
Earthday.org estimates that 1 BILLION people now participate each year, over 190 countries engage, making it the largest civic observance in the world. The unique circumstances posed by Covid-19 make all social gatherings up to and after this Earth Day (April 22) unfeasible. Meanwhile, we have an opportunity to do something that brings meaning to Earth Day 2020 while self-isolating.
Let’s create an art exhibit inviting everyone in our community to participate while we social distance keeping Earth Day alive!
TOWN-WIDE INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN AN ART INSTALLATION The vision of the art installation on the Town Green called “Pollinator Pathway” encompasses as many origami flowers and pollinators as we can make. They will be strung together in a series of curtains. We invite every citizen of Redding to participate. Use your own paper or recycled paper or arrange to pick up some from Town Hall. DUE DATE FOR DROP OFF: EXTENDED TO April 20, 2020 (at Town Hall–there is a box on a bench by the front door). Contact Alice Smith at 203-938-2002 or email: asmith@townofreddingct.org. COUNTDOWN TO EARTH DAY 2020 Beginning March 4 until Earth Day April 22, 2020…50 days away and 50 ways to make a difference! Click here to access the list. “Here are 50 Ways!”
