Social events put on by Christ Church are often sponsored by the Rooster Club, named for the Rooster weathervane that is Christ Church’s emblem. The original brass Rooster is said to have been used as target practice by British militiamen during Revolutionary times, and the bullet ridden rooster is still on display at Christ Church. A new Rooster weathervane graces the outside of Christ Church.
