GENERAL ELECTION – NOVEMBER 5, 2024

All registered voters can vote in the General Election regardless of party affiliation. The General Election is on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Relevant dates, times, and deadlines are outlined below.

Friday, October 4, 2024

  • Absentee ballots become available on Friday, October 4. Click here for more information.

Friday, October 18, 2024

  • The deadline to register in person is Friday, October 18 at 8:00 p.m.
    • However, Limited Registration is available to those who qualify on November 4.
  • Mail-in registration applications must be postmarked or received by the Registrar of Voters by Friday, October 18.
  • Online registration applications must be submitted by Friday, October 18 at 11:59 p.m.

Monday, October 21 – Sunday, November 3, 2024

  • The period for Early Voting (EV) begins on Monday, October 21 and continues daily through Sunday, November 3. Early voting will take place at the Redding Community Center (37 Lonetown Rd). Hours are as follows:
    • Mondays – Fridays: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
      • Except Tuesday, October 29 and Thursday, October 31: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
    • Saturday and Sundays: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    • See the calendar below for reference.
  • NOTE: There is no voting on Monday, November 4.
  • Same Day Registration (SDR) is available during all Early Voting hours. If you missed the deadline to register and do not meet one of the exception criteria below, but you are a bona fide resident of the town, you can register to vote on Election Day at the Redding Community Center at 37 Lonetown Road during Early Voting hours.
    • However, you must complete an application, provide proof of identification and be approved to vote by the Registrar of Voters. For additional information on what documentation you will need to provide, click here.
    • If you will be registering during SDR, you are strongly advised to contact the Registrar of Voters as soon as possible! You will only be able to vote if you are approved by the Registrar of Voters.

Tuesday, November 5, 2024

  • The General Election is Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Redding Community Center (37 Lonetown Rd). Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you are in line at 8:00 p.m., you will be permitted to vote.
  • Same Day Registration (SDR) is available. If you missed the deadline to register and do not meet one of the above criteria, but you are a bona fide resident of the town, you can register to vote on Election Day at the Redding Community Center at 37 Lonetown Road by 8:00 p.m.
    • However, you must complete an application, provide proof of identification and be approved to vote by the Registrar of Voters.
