7:30 p.m. – Old Town House
Present: David Pattee, Chairman; Susan Robinson; William Hill; Stuart Green; Tina Miller; Wallace Perlman.
Absent: Joseph Beres
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES -Minutes of May 3, 2016
On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of S. Robinson, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the 5/3/16 Meeting Minutes.
II. REGULATORY
Application/Violation #16-04, Michael and Louise Wagner, 3 Redcoat Lane. To received and discuss an application to remove invasives, dead brush, and litter. Replace healthy grasses appropriate to the site within the regulated area.
Louise Wagner was present. Mrs. Wagner reviewed the history and recent activity in the wetland area including dumping of materials by unauthorized people.
D. Pattee stated that in the absence of a wetlands permit, a survey from a soil scientist is needed. In addition, a planting plan for wetland restoration utilizing native species needs to be submitted.
Mrs. Wagner was informed that the original A2 plot survey could be obtained at the Town Clerk’s office for review at the next meeting.
Application #16-05, Ryan and Shana Yeager, 62 Picketts Ridge Road. To receive and discuss an application for installation of a handicap ramp to include a covered porch and roof extension within the regulated area.
Mr. and Mrs. Yeager were present. Ryan Yeager reviewed the plan and drawings.
A Site Walk is scheduled for Mon., 6/13/16 at 6:00 p.m.
Application #16-06, Richard Tompkins (owner), North Point Construction (Mark Giumarra, agent), 15 Silversmith Lane. To receive and discuss an application to extend porch and installation of an inground swimming pool within the regulated area.
M. Giumarra was present for the applicant. Initial plans were reviewed including the proposed cartridge filter system. D. Pattee requested a design on paper delineating the final area of proposed disturbance.
A site walk will be scheduled after a more detailed plan is submitted.
III. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
D. Pattee reported that a signed contract for the Biehn property is imminent. Possible trails were reviewed.
A new educational sign has been installed at the Saugatuck Falls Natural Area.
Re: NRWA, comments concerning map updates are requested from Louise Washer.
D. Pattee reported that J. Hayes is in the initial stages of planning for the next Town Plan of Conservation & Development.
DEEP workshop re: legal and administrative updates are on 6/28/16 in Derby.
On the motion of T. Miller and the second of W. Perlman, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 9:25 p.m.
