SPECIAL MEETING
Wednesday, September 20, 2017 – 4:30 p.m.
TOWN HALL HEARING ROOM

Joanne Perlman, Alternate

The meeting was called to order at 4:36 p.m.
Thirteen motor vehicles appeals applications were received at the meeting held on Thursday, September 14, 2017.
The Board went into deliberative session at 4:40 p.m.

MOTIONS:
MV17-01:
1997 Toyota Camry, assessed value $2,140
Upon motion of Mr. Stackpole and second of Mr. Miller, the Board voted unanimously to reduce the assessment to $2,018.

MV17-02:
2010 Toyota Sequoia, assessed value $19,320
Upon motion of Mr. Stackpole and second of Mr. Miller, the Board voted unanimously to reduce the assessment to $18,533.

MV17-03:
2011 Ford Escape, assessed value $8,940
Upon motion of Mr. Miller and second of Ms. Esten, the Board voted unanimously to reduce the assessment to $7,470.

MV17-04:
2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, assessed value $12,270
Upon motion of Mr. Stackpole and second of Ms. Esten, the Board voted unanimously to reduce the assessment to $11,480.

MV17-05:
2011 Buick Enclave, assessed value $13,160
Upon motion of Mr. Stackpole and second of Mr. Miller, the Board voted unanimously to reduce the assessment to $12,355.

MV17-06:
2008 Volkswagon Rabbit, assessed value $3,870
Upon motion of Mr. Miller and second of Mr. Stackpole, the Board voted unanimously to reduce the assessment to $3,640.

MV17-07:
2011 Toyota Prius, assessed value $7,840
Upon motion of Mr. Stackpole and second of Mr. Miller, the Board voted unanimously that no change be made to the assessment.

MV17-08:
2008 Lincoln Town Car, assessed value $7,910
Upon motion of Mr. Miller and second of Mr.Stackpole, the Board voted unanimously that no change be made to the assessment.

MV17-09:
2007 Lincoln Town Car, assessed value $7,530
Upon motion of Mr. Miller and second of Mr.Stackpole, the Board voted unanimously that no change be made to the assessment.

MV17-10:
2011 Lincoln Town Car, assessed value $9,360
Upon motion of Mr. Miller and second of Mr.Stackpole, the Board voted unanimously that no change be made to the assessment.

MV17-11:
2013 Ford Expedition, assessed value $24,120
Upon motion of Mr. Miller and second of Mr.Stackpole, the Board voted unanimously that no change be made to the assessment.

MV17-12:
2014 Ford Taurus, assessed value $11,530
Upon motion of Mr. Miller and second of Mr.Stackpole, the Board voted unanimously that no change be made to the assessment.

MV17-13:
2012 Volvo S60T6A, assessed value $12,510
Upon motion of Mr. Stackpole and second of Ms. Esten, the Board voted unanimously to reduce the assessment to $9,620.

The Board exited deliberative session at 5:54 p.m.

The Board set the tentative date of the preliminary Real Estate Assessment Meeting for the Grand List of October 1, 2017 for Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 4:30 p.m.

Meeting dates for subsequent hearings were tentatively scheduled for:
Monday, March 5, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Thursday, March 8, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Saturday, March 10, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Monday, March 12, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Thursday, March 15, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

A request has been made to the Republican Town Committee chair to recommend an appointment to the Board of Selectman for Alternate member to replace Liz Furrer.

The Board recommended including an attachment to next year’s appeals application to explain the calculation process and detail what documentation should be submitted with the application at the time of hearing.

The session adjourned at 5:58 p.m.
