MINUTES
Thursday, September 13, 2018 – 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Present:
Greg Stackpole, Chairman

1. Call meeting to Order

The meeting was called to order at 4:02PM

2. Open Session for the Sole Purpose of Deliberating Appeals Related to the Assessment of Motor Vehicles on the Grand List of October 1, 2017.

There were four applications for appeals heard.

MV18-01:
William Keiser, 12 Deacon Abbott Road, Redding
1988 Kenworth Construction Model, Assessed Value $21,000

MV18-02:
Leslie Mclean, 139 Mountain Road, Redding
2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser, Assessed Value $10,680

MV18-03:
Kaloyan Zhelyazkov, 3 Limekiln Road, Redding
2012 Volvo S60, Assessed Value $9,990

MV18-04:
Anne Stark, 427 Newtown Turnpike, Redding
2006 Acura MDX, Assessed Value $7,250

MV18-05:
Richard Alfaro, 727 Redding Road, Redding
2000 Honda Civic, Assessed Value $2,310

The Board went into deliberative session at 4:30PM.

3. Deliberative Session

MOTIONS:

MV18-01:
Mr. Miller made a motion to reduce the assessed value to $5,600. Chair Stackpole seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous, and the motion passed.

MV18-02:
Chair Stackpole made a motion to reduce the assessed value to $10,160. Mr. Miller seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous, and the motion passed.

MV18-03:
Chair Stackpole made a motion to reduce the assessed value to $7,400. Ms. Esten seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous, and the motion passed.

MV18-04:
Greg made a motion to reduce the assessed value to $5,810. Mr. Bachmann seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous, and the motion passed.

MV18-05:
Chair Stackpole made a motion to reduce the assessment to $1,750. Mr. Bachmann seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous, and the motion passed.

The Board exited deliberative session at 6:30 PM.

4. Discussion/Administrative Matters

The Board set the tentative date of the preliminary Real Estate Assessment Meeting for the Grand List of October 1, 2018 for Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.

Meeting dates for subsequent hearings were tentatively scheduled for:
Monday, March 11, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Thursday, March 14, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Saturday, March 16, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Monday, March 18, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Thursday, March 21, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

5. Adjournment

The session adjourned at 7:08PM.
