The meeting was called to order at 4:03 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting was to hear two scheduled appeals and to continue deliberations of property assessment appeals for the 2012 Grand List.

The following two appeals were heard:

11 Station Road

Appellants Opinion of Fair Market Value on October 1, 2012              $0

Appellant was present, as well as Agent and owner of 11 Station Road, Beth Stoltz. Appellant indicates that the horse is a 30-year-old thoroughbred that is being stalled at the property of 11 Station Road as a companion to a donkey.  The Chairman explained to the Appellant that the assessment was the value of the property and not the tax owed.

The Board entered deliberative session at 4:13 p.m.

MOTION: Made by Mr. Stackpole, seconded by Ms. Furrer that no change be made in the assessment based on the fact that the Board does not have the authority to waive or remove the penalty. Carried unanimous.

4 Long Ridge Road

MOTION: Made by Mr. Stackpole, seconded by Ms. Furrer that no change be made in the assessment based on the fact that the Board does not have the authority to waive or remove the penalty.  Carried unanimous.

The Board exited deliberative session at 5:00 p.m.

Appellant/Owner was present.  Agent, Mario Coppola of Berchen, Moses & Devlin, PC, submitted an appraisal of the property with comparable values of properties in the area to the Board.  Agent indicated that the acreage on the property is not sub-dividable due to topography issues and lack of frontage.

The Board entered deliberative session at 5:34 p.m.

117 Umpawaug Road: appeal withdrawn, no action taken.

The Board exited deliberative session at 7:47 p.m.

The Board will next meet in September 2013 for hearings on motor vehicles appeals on the October 1, 2012 Grand List.

A motion to adjourn was made, seconded and carried unanimously at 7:49 p.m.
