Minutes
Present: Alvarez (Chairman), Clark, O’Donnell, Mazzucco. Absent: Dolan and Yonkers.
Also present: Board of Education Chairman Sobel, Superinendent Dr. McMorran, Finance Director Peggy Sullivan, other representatives of the Board of Education and the administration, Finance Director Gniadek, and one member of the public.
Chairman Alvarez called the meeting to order at 8:30 am on February 11, 2016, in the Main Conference Room of the Redding Elementary School. The meeting continued in other locations within the school and at the John Read Middle School.
TOUR OF REDDING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND JOHN READ MIDDLE SCHOOL
Ms. Sullivan reported on the plans for capital improvements at RES and JRMS, notably the HVAC systems. She and other school representatives pointed out areas where they believe the current systems are deficient and offered to provide additional information about the proposed systems from the design professionals. Board members and James Miller, member of the public, asked many questions. Some Board of Finance members questioned the utility of the renovations in case portions or all of a school was put to a different use. This issue will be discussed at a regular Board of Finance meeting.

Motion: move that the Redding Board of Finance meeting be adjourned. Mazzucco, Clark. Approved. Unanimous.
