First Selectman Ketcham called the September 23, 2013 special meeting to order at 8:54 pm.
REVIEW AND ACTION ON PROPOSED 180 DAY DEMOLITION DELAY ORDINANCE
The formal review and editing of the proposed ordinance was completed.
Motion: move that the Redding Board of Selectmen approve the 180 Day Demolition Delay Ordinance and refer it to a Town Meeting for approval. Takacs, Pemberton. Approved. Unanimous.
REVIEW AND ACTION ON PROPOSED TOPSTONE PARK LEASH ORDINANCE
The proposed Ordinance was reviewed and changes incorporated. The ordinance will mean that dogs must be leashed in areas of Topstone Park where the public congregates, such as the parking lot, access driveway from Topstone Road, within 50’ of trail entrances, or in the beach area from Labor Day to May 15. The fine structure established by the state was discussed. It was agreed that the fine would be $35 plus additional fees for a total of $75.
Motion: move that the Redding Board of Selectmen approve the Topstone Park Leash Ordinance as proposed and refer it to a Town Meeting for approval. Pemberton, Takacs. Approved. Unanimous.
SET A TOWN MEETING DATE FOR THE APPROVAL OF CAPITAL EXPENDITURES, DEMOLITION DELAY AND TOPSTONE PARK LEASH ORDINANCE
Motion: move that the Redding Board of Selectmen set Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 7:30 pm for a Town Meeting in the Redding Community Center to consider the approval of the following:
- Capital Expenditures:
Stepney Road Bridge – $739,000
Highway Department Garage Addition – $300,000
Transfer Station Dumpster Roof – $192,845
Community Center Field Maintenance Equip Building – $ 71,000
Community Center Permanent Gym Storage – $ 55,000
