The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m.
I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES -Meeting of August 15, 2017
Site Walk Minutes 8/18/17-M/M Albert Diaz, 67 Topstone Rd.
II. REGULATORY
Application #17-10, Albert and Reghan Diaz, 67 Topstone Road. Received 8/15/17. Discussion and possible vote on an application to construct a swimming pool and removal of excess soil associated with pool construction within the regulated area. Site Walk 8/18/17.
Albert and Reghan Diaz were present. Site Walk findings were reviewed. The silt fence location is confirmed to between the lap pool and the stone patio.
On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of T. Miller, the Commission voted unanimously to approve Application #17-10.
Application #17-11, Thorsten Kaye, 142 Seventy Acre Road. To receive and discuss an application to construct a 24’ x 28’ two-car garage within the regulated area.
Susan Kaye was present. The proposal and accompanying drawing were reviewed.
A site walk is scheduled for Mon., 9/11/17 at 5:30 p.m. D. Pattee requested a stake at the corners of the proposed shed location.
Discussion of Land Management Plan for 18 Hill Road.
Commissioners reviewed items of concern. T. Miller will propose language and forward to Commissioners for review.
Discussion of the Town of Redding Open Space Plan 2018.
The scope of the project was discussed. S. Robinson will look into possible contacts for obtaining an intern to assist. The Public Hearing schedule will be obtained from T. Welles.
III. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
Re: signs at Saugatuck Falls Natural Area, S. McNamara reported that the vandalized signs are repaired and will be reinstalled this week by John McLeran.
D. Pattee received an email from Julia Pemberton re: hunting near Bogus Brook.
An article on Hello Redding noted that open space owned by the Town of Redding and the Redding Land Trust at 18 Hill Road was named the Mary Anne Guitar Nature Preserve.
The CACIWC Annual Meeting will be help on 11/18/17 at the Crowell Radisson.
W. Hill reported that per J. McLeran, there’s an available grant re: mowing the central field.
On the motion of T. Miller and the second of W. Perlman, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 p.m.
