MINUTES

The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m.
I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES -Meeting of 7/20/21
Mr. Perlman motioned and Mr. Hill seconded the motion to approve the 7/20/21 Meeting
Minutes as corrected: footer, change from “July 21, 2021” to “July 20, 2021”. The motion passed unanimously.
II. REGULATORY
Application #21-14, Martin Ludwin, 44 Black Rock Turnpike. To receive and discuss an application to replace existing septic system within the regulated area.
Mr. Ludwin was present via ZOOM. The septic system replacement proposal was reviewed and a Site Walk is scheduled for Tues., 8/10/21 at 5:30 p.m.
Application #21-15, Mary Bottero (owner), Abigail Adams (agent), 687 Redding Road. To receive and discuss an application for pond dredging and wetland enhancements.
Land Use Director A. Pardee reported that Abigail Adams was unable to attend the meeting. A Site Walk is scheduled for Tues., 8/10/21 at 5:30 p.m.
Discussion re: Conservation Commission to resume Bow Hunting on select properties.
D. Pattee noted that count for deer last year is 11. Mr. Perlman reported that he has observed an increased number of deer this year. Mrs. Miller asked if there was a down side to a bow hunting program if there are more people utilizing the trails. Mr. Pattee stated that hunters are not permitted to utilize a stand next to a trail.
Alice Smith will be requested to set up the hunting program for this season.
III. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
Stuart Green reported on the need to replace empty propane tanks. D. Pattee agreed to the replacement of 4 tanks and two additional tanks when they are empty.
The Connecticut Invasive Plant Working Group will be conducting a workshop on 9/11/21.
Game of Logging will be conducting a one-day chainsaw workshop with a focus on storm cleanup on 10/2/21. The cost will be $100 per person for 12 participants. It is confirmed that there is sufficient insurance coverage.
Mr. Green, Mr. Perlman and Mr. Hill are meeting with Mr. Fahan on Fri., 8/6/21 at 9:00 am at the Lonetown Marsh entrance on Route 107 to review the project details re: boardwalk.
Re: NRVT, the first down payment due at signing will be paid.
Re: Granskog property, Mr. Pattee reported that a letter of support has been sent to the Nature Conservancy.
Land Use Director A. Pardee has issued a Notice of Violation at 65 Diamond Hill Road, M. Marocco. Status was briefly reviewed re: Boccarossa, Werf Drive.
Mrs. Miller motioned and Mr. Hill seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:35 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
