Minutes

Present: David Pattee, Chairman; Susan Robinson; William Hill; Stuart Green; Joseph Beres; Wallace Perlman.

Absent: Tina Miller

The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m.

1.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES -Minutes of June 16, 2015

On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of S. Green, the Commission voted to approve the 6/16/15 Meeting Minutes. J. Beres and W. Hill abstained.

2. REGULATORY

Application #15-06, Estate of Mary Ellen Klein, c/o Richard L. Emerson, Executor, (owner), Jason Sivo (agent), 37 Sullivan Drive. To pump and abandon existing septic tank and installation of new tank with related activities including fill, Mantis septic units, topsoil, and to remove two existing trees and stumps.

Jason Sivo was present for the applicant. The proposal was reviewed in detail and a Site Walk is scheduled for Mon., 7/27/15 at 5:30 p.m.

Conservation Issues

Gilbert-Miller Park – Discussion
S. Robinson and Jere Ross detailed maintenance items proposed for the 2016 budget. D. Pattee will contact J. Pemberton to determine if the park is considered a Town park.

Discussion will continue.

3. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

D. Pattee reviewed an email from the New England Wildflower Society re: small plant survey at Saugatuck Falls Natural Area.

J. McLeran delivered a new sign re: wetlands made by students at JRMS. D. Pattee reiterated the need for permission in advance. Options for sign placement were reviewed and it was agreed that the sign is more appropriate in the school.

The trail plan for the Redding section of the NRVT has been received.

S. Green reported on status re: fallen trees in Lonetown Marsh.

D. Pattee reported on upcoming DEEP training. One Commissioner can take an online class free of charge.

On the motion of J. Beres and the second of W. Perlman, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 9:26 p.m.
