The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m.
I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Minutes of June 7, 2016; Site Inspection Minutes, June 13, 2016 – 62 Picketts Ridge Road, Mr. & Mrs. Yeager
On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of T. Miller, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the 6/7/16 Meeting Minutes as amended: Page 1, “Application/Violation #16-04”, fourth line in heading, change to “Replace with appropriate healthy grasses within the regulated area.”
On the motion of T. Miller and the second of W. Perlman, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the 6/13/16 Site Inspection Minutes.
II. REGULATORY
Application/Violation #16-04, Michael and Louise Wagner, 3 Redcoat Lane. Received 6/7/16. Discussion and possible vote on an application to remove invasives, dead brush, and litter. Replace with appropriate healthy grasses within the regulated area.
Louise Wagner was present. A soil scientist report was received and reviewed. A proposed remediation plan is pending. D. Pattee reiterated the need for an overall remediation plan including how the area of concern will be maintained as a wetland.
A Site Walk is scheduled for Mon., 6/27/16 at 6:00 p.m.
Application #16-05, Ryan and Shanna Yeager, 62 Picketts Ridge Road. Received 6/7/16. Discussion and possible vote on an application for installation of a handicap ramp to include a covered porch and roof extension within the regulated area. Site Walk 6/13/16.
Mr. and Mrs. Yeager were present. Site Walk findings were reviewed. Mr. Yeager drew silt fence locations on the map.
On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of S. Green, the Commission voted unanimously to approve Application #16-05.
Application #16-06, Richard Tompkins (owner), North Point Construction (Mark Giumarra, agent), 15 Silversmith Lane. Received 6/7/16. Discussion and possible vote on an application to extend porch and installation of an inground swimming pool within the regulated area.
M. Giumarra was present for the applicant. D. Pattee noted receipt of a new drawing which was reviewed in detail. Mr. Giumarra will add silt fence locations to the map for the next meeting.
A Site Walk is scheduled for Mon., 6/27/16 at 6:30 p.m.
Application #16-07, Vincent Pelusio (owner), A-1 Septic (Dennis Carlson, agent), 107 Simpaug Turnpike. To receive and discuss an application for installation of a septic system within the regulated area.
Mr. Pelusio and Mr. Carlson were present. The proposal was reviewed and silt fence locations will be added to the drawing for review at the next meeting.
A Site Walk is scheduled for Mon., 6/27/16 at 7:00 p.m.
III. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
S. Robinson provided an update re: tree removal status at Gilbert Miller Park. She will try to expedite an estimate for review at the next meeting.
A proposed additional baseball field with lights at the intersection of Route 7 and Simpaug Turnpike was reviewed. Concerns were noted re: proximity to NRVT trail area. S. Green will send an email to NRVT contacts.
D. Pattee noted receipt of a preliminary packet from the Redding Land Trust re: shared easements.
Insurance for trail tenders was discussed and will be addressed with the Selectmen’s office.
The next brown bag lunch is scheduled for Wed., July 6.
On the motion of T. Miller and the second of W. Perlman, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 p.m.
