Minutes

 

Present: C. Lynch (by phone), F. Taylor, J. Schmitz (by phone), Neil Marcus (via phone), Noreen Laurinaitis (representing USDA, via phone)

Mr. Lynch called the Meeting to order at 2:07pm in the Conference Room of GSTD in Georgetown, CT

  1. Brief discussion regarding the background of the Town of Redding Foreclosure process against GLDC, et al in which the Georgetown Special Taxing District is named as a defendant among other entities having liens or other financial attachments on the property of GLDC.
  2. Brief discussion of the funds required to retain counsel and sources for GSTD to obtain required funds to deal with defending its positions.
  3. Frank Taylor moved that the Taxing District enter executive session for the purposes of discussing pending litigation, seconded by Joe Schmitz. Ms. Laurinaitis was invited to join the executive session. Vote: unanimous
  4. During the executive session, GSTD attorney Marcus discussed the nature of the Foreclosure action, the options for GSTD and next steps for GSTD.
  5. Executive session ended at 2:43pm, during the session no motions were made nor were any votes taken.
  6. Frank Taylor moved and Joe Schmitz seconded: President Lynch is to draft a letter to appropriate defendants explaining the Taxing District’s financial status and options for defending itself during the foreclosure process. Vote: Unanimous

ADJOURNMENT

Motion: move that the meeting be adjourned. Schmitz, Taylor. Approved. Unanimous.

The meeting adjourned at 2:45pm
