Meeting Minutes
Present: Kevin Jones (Chair), Scott Palmer, Mitch Edwards, Lorcan O’Connor, Pete Graziano, MaryLou Carlson (7:53)
CALL TO ORDER
Mr. Jones called the meeting to order at 7:42 pm.
REVIEW OF DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Mr. Blick reviewed his report:
– Topstone Park has been selling out quite often. Last Sunday was the first weekend day that was not sold out.
– Response to the Playdates scheduled at the Community Center has been low. We will only be able to run 3 of the 12 offered dates, with very small groups. The biggest challenge has been communicating with children while wearing masks, when children miss some of the normal visual cues.
– The department is looking to hire a Program Director.
– Staff has been power-washing the roof at Topstone to remove moss.

DISCUSSION OF PREVIOUS BUSINESS
The commission had a discussion regarding the apprehension of residents to use the available playdate programming.
Topstone Park’s last day of operation will be Labor Day.
ADDITIONAL NEW BUSINESS OR INITIATIVES
The town will give us some space in the school to assist in running the after-school program, with help from town employees to help with cleaning the areas used. We will have two classrooms, in a addition to the gymnasium after the walkers program has cleared out for the day. Use of the bathrooms in the school has been approved, as well as the addition of portable bathrooms available outside. Tents will be setup outside as well, to help with the transition after school until the gymnasium is cleared for use.
