DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Rob Blick (PAR Director) reported:
-Basketball season ending, received positive response from many of the participants.
-Ice Rink was taken down after a long season of use. A new liner will need to be purchased, at an approximate cost of $1200.
-We hired Tracy Bozzuti in the Park and Recreation office (previously worked in Town Clerk’s office).
-Mr. Blick will be involved in a meeting next week with RES Principal and Special Services staff to discuss summer camp programming.
-Concert on the Green program is set for this summer, featuring more new bands than ever before. Two youth band nights have been scheduled with David Morgan: April 28th at RCC and July 26th at Topstone.
-Many of our previous staff will be returning this summer at Topstone and Summer Camp. Jen Pritchard will be the Camp Director.

DISCUSSION OF PREVIOUS BUSINESS
-None
LARGER BACKBOARD AT RCC TENNIS COURTS
-Received a quote of $6500 for a 40ft backboard and the poles to fasten it to the surface.
-There is an option to have it installed on the court itself.
VENDING MACHINES AT TOPSTONE
-Mr. Blick investigated having “healthy choices” vending machines installed. The original company suggested did not return phone calls. Our current vendor suggested that the volume of business and location could be a deterrent for many vendors. No change will be made unless we find a suitable vendor.
FUNDRAISER IDEAS
-Mrs. Schwartz had previously brought up the idea of having a fundraising activity, such as a barn Dance (contra dance), to help raise funds for P&R programming. Mr. Blick determined it may not be a true fundraiser after operating costs. The idea would work if the entertainment was donated.
-The Commission discussed the need for a specific cause to be given to the fundraising effort, and the need to pick a night and time that will attract the highest number of participants.
ADDITIONAL NEW BUSINESS
-None
SUPPLEMENTAL PUBLIC COMMENT
-A member of the public asked several questions regarding the process/steps of fundraising for the previously discussed Skate Park in Redding.
