Minutes of Planning Commission – Site Walk, 01/11/2015

AGENDA: Planning Commission – Site Walk

RECEIVED 01/15/2015 1:50pm
Michele R. Grande – Redding Town Clerk

Present: Commissioner Anda Cumings, project representative Parker Coates, project engineer Peder Scott of P.W. Engineering & Architecture, P. C.

The Site Walk commenced at 9:15 AM.  The area was covered by a couple inches of snow.

Mr. Scott began the Walk by first presenting a site plan and explaining the intended layout of the lots and anticipated roadways.  He proceeded to drive the participants around the property (across open area) in his truck.  Mr. Scott discussed the proposed lay out of a town road and a connecting common drive, and also the proposed Open Space area.   Mr. Scott presented details regarding the proposed bridge for the common drive and drainage for the lots.  He also pointed out outbuildings and debris on Lot 12 intended for removal.  The original stone house on Lot 12 is not slated for changes or demolition.  The barns on Lot 12 may be repurposed for equestrian use, but are not part of the Old Stone Estates application.  Two of the proposed building lots are off of Chestnut Woods Road, and have existing cuts/gates in the stone walls on the frontages.

The site had at one time been a sheep farm.   The wetlands areas are surrounded by stone walls.

No motions were made or votes taken at this meeting.

The walk concluded at about 10:15 AM.
