ATTENDANCE: Board of Education: Irwin, Hoffman, Parkin, Hoeing, Pilato, Reilly, Whaley
Administration: McMorran
Dr. Irwin called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None
BOARD MEMBER COMMENT:
Dr. Irwin reminded the board that communications they have with third parties are individual and not on behalf of the board. She suggested discussing a monthly Board column in the Pilot. She hopes board will collaborate and be nonpartisan in its work.
Mrs. Whaley, Mr. Hoffman, Mrs. Hoeing, and Mr. Parkin each commented on comments made to and by the press regarding the filling of the Board vacancy and their expectation that the Board would operate in a nonpartisan fashion.
DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION: ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Nick Caruso from CABE facilitated a conversation about roles and responsibilities of boards and their members
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Girish Arora– Newtown Turnpike Mr. Arora was attending his first meeting after 18 years in town and appreciated the conversation.
BOARD MEMBER COMMENT:
Mr. Reilly commenting on excitement for future placing a focus on large issues and not minutia.
Mr. Hoffman commented regarding filling committees.
Mrs. Pilato commented about board communication with each other and the public.

Motion: move to adjourn the meeting. Hoffman, Hoeing. Approved. Unanimous.
The meeting adjourned at 10:20 p.m.
