DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION: JRMS HIRING – PRINCIPAL – COMMUNITY PROFILE PRESENTED BY JE CONSULTING
Dr. J. Erardi from JE Consulting thanked the Board and welcomed C. Zachery to his new position in the district. He went on to present the JRMS Principal Search Community Profile, which he explained is an executive summary of the feedback he received from multiple stakeholders via the Community Forum, community survey, focus groups, various meetings and one-on-one conversations regarding the JRMS principalship. Stakeholders prioritized the following skills as essential: Proven Instructional Leadership, Organization and Empowerment, Communication, and Visionary Leadership Beyond the Pandemic. The character traits they prioritized were Embrace and Understand the Uniqueness of Middle Schools, Personal Credo of Strength and Consistency, Professional and Personal Work Balance, Personality to Follow/Climate and Culture, and Ethical and Moral Compass. Stakeholders believe the greatest successes at JRMS are that students leave prepared for high school, the teaming approach and programming, the staff, depth of co-curricular and after-school opportunities, and the safe and nurturing environment. Stakeholders believe the greatest challenges are the workload due to the pandemic, meeting the needs of all students in a multiple-medium platform and funding existing programs. The focus groups also provided additional points of consideration for the hiring process. The applicant pool included 42 applicants with 30 completed applications. The hiring process includes the applicant period, a paper screen, a first-round of
interviews with a cross-functional group, an interview with Central Office leadership, and then a final round of interviews with the Board. The process has a targeted completion for late February with an announcement in early March. Discussion followed.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.

C. Pilato thanked Dr. Erardi and said she appreciates hearing the feedback he provided.
