Present: David Pattee, Chairman; Susan Robinson; Joseph Beres; Wallace Perlman.

Absent: William Hill; Stuart Green; Tina Miller

The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

I.      APPROVAL OF MINUTES -Minutes of August 16, 2016

On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of J. Beres, the Commission voted to approve the 8/16/16 Meeting Minutes. S. Robinson abstained.

II.     REGULATORY

Application #16-10, Jeff and Heather Morgan, 74 Wayside Lane. To receive and discuss an application for demolition of existing barn/garage and replaced with new barn/garage on the current footprint within the regulated area.

Jeff Morgan was present. The proposal was reviewed and two copies of the plan will be submitted to the Land Use Office.

A Site Walk is scheduled for Mon., 9/26/16 at 5:30 p.m.

Modification to Permit #15-14, Marie Henry, 475 Newtown Turnpike.

Marie Henry was present. D. Pattee summarized the history of the application and reason for a requested modification.

On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of J. Beres, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the modification of Permit #15-14 to allow the cottage to be built west of the stonewall.

III.     CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

D. Pattee reported that the Biehn property purchase is complete. A work party will be organized to remove the pipes on the property. S. Robinson suggested reviewing the biodiversity map. D. Pattee will request a map with a 1”=50 scale.

The hunting season commenced on September 15.

The CACIWC Annual Meeting is scheduled for Sat., 11/12/16 at the Sheraton Hartford South Hotel in Rocky Hill. Attendance forms need to be postmarked by October 15.

D. Pattee stated that S. Green received an email from The Nature Conservancy re: archaeological site at General Putnam’s Camp. Efforts will be made refrain from specifying the precise location in order to preserve its condition.

Couch Hill fields were mowed. A fee for field maintenance will be paid.

S. Robinson updated the status of Gilbert-Miller Park. She noted the need for removing a sugar maple tree.

On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of S. Robinson, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 8:25 p.m.
