The meeting came to order at 5:15pm. The minutes from the last meeting were accepted
New Business:
-Sean McKenny Asked for clarification on the dispatch protocols for syncopal episodes (ALS or BLS). Lately a medic has not been dispatched for those calls. Matt C. said he would pull up the protocol on record so any issues would be managed properly in the future.
-Sean McKenny offered the sleeping quarters at RR Center Firehouse to any paramedics who may need the facility.
-Sean McKenny wanted to discuss the Rt.107 car accident in April. He felt that communication between on scene personnel and the medic from Danbury was lacking and wondered how it could be improved. The GVFD fire chief and captain as well as the Redding police chief met to discuss communication issues and how they might improve. There was a discussion regarding communication.
-The three districts will be contacting an outside source to review communications and possibly replace existing radio system
-Wade is in the process of redoing the District Mapbook. The Big Map and Mapbook have not been reviewed in 10 years. He is reviewing mutual aid station topographies and interface. He currently has a preliminary copy of the district map and is willing to share it if anyone is interested.
-Georgetown has the annual Georgetown Day event on June11th from 12-6pm. An extra medic was requested for the event.
-It is graduation season with many events coming up in June. A general note to membership will be sent out.
Unfinished Business:
Saturday Will be the EMT class final exam practicals. There are 28 candidates participating.
-On June 10th Joel Barlow HS is having a reunion and R-50 will be dedicated to the event.
