Chair Hanson called the meeting to order at 4:02PM.
Approval of the Minutes from the Thursday, 12/3/2020 Meeting.
MOTION:
Chair Deluca made a motion to approve the minutes from the Thursday, 12/3/2020 meeting. Ms. Gramer seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous, and the motion carried.
Old Business:
- Removal of Tagged Trees along the Parade Path.
Chair Hanson stated that this is an ongoing item that will be addressed closer to summertime.
Ms. Smith stated that the Town is taking on the Parade Path duties until a replacement for the former volunteer is found. Discussion followed concerning limb removal techniques and procedure.
- WPCC Plant Trench to Mitigate Ice Formation on Asphalt.
Chair Hanson stated this has not been completed yet but should be addressed in 2021.
- Reunification Drill at John Read Middle School.
Chair Deluca stated there hasn’t been much discussion about this item since the last meeting.
- Covid-19 Worker’s Compensation Follow-Up.
Mr. Smith stated that Vicki Cram at Central Office was going to reach out to CIRMA concerning the Town’s liability for Covid-19 claims.
Chair Deluca stated that the Police Department has filed First Reports of Injury (FRI’s) for officers that have been in contact with Covid-19. No compensation has been paid out.
- Health Department Update.
Doug Hartline was not present for the meeting and could not present an update.
New Business:
- Review of First Reports of Injury since Thursday, 12/3/2020 for Schools and Town.
The Town of Redding only had one First Report of Injury:
A Facilities worker injured their right wrist moving snow. They received physical therapy and are back to full capacity.
Mr. Zachery stated that Covid-19 outbreaks are a consideration for the schools.
- Safety Concerns and Prevention Measures at the School and Town Facilities.
Chair Deluca asked Mr. Gniadek and Mr. McKenney about FEMA reimbursements and how they apply to overtime that was paid to cover quarantined officers. Mr. McKenney said the FEMA reimbursements only apply to SPS services that cover Covid-19 testing and vaccine clinics.
Mr. Zachery stated that signs will be erected that warn members of the public about walking on the grounds during team practice. He said the Lacrosse practice as well as Track and Field pose a threat to citizens walking nearby. Discussion followed concerning how this information is distributed.
Chair Hanson stated that this was the first year the Highway Department plowed the WPCC. He said there was new custodial staff at the schools and that these situations presented unique challenges.
- Covid-19 Departmental Safety Updates.
Chair Hanson stated that the Town of Redding’s Health Department should have offered vaccinations to non-resident employees of the Town.
The next meeting of the Redding Safety Committee will be on Thursday, 6/3/2021 at 4:00PM.

Chair Hanson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Chair Deluca seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous, and the motion carried.
