Chair Deluca called the meeting to order at 4:05PM.

Approval of the Minutes from the Thursday, 3/4/2021 Meeting.

Chair Deluca made a motion to approve the minutes of the Thursday, 3/4/2021 meeting. Ms. Gramer seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous, and the motion carried.

Old Business:

• Removal of Tagged Trees along the Parade Path
Chair Deluca stated this is an on-going process.

• Reunification Drill at John Read Middle School
Chair Deluca stated this has not happened yet and will most likely happen during the next school year.

• WPCC Plant Trench to Mitigate Ice Formation on Asphalt.
Chair Deluca stated this item can wait until the winter. Mr. Burke confirmed he is waiting for the Highway Department to work on this.

• Covid-19 Departmental Safety Updates
Mr. Hartline said the Vaccination Clinics for the Town of Redding are completed. Reimbursement from the State of CT will follow in the future. Discussion followed concerning the future of Covid-19 and how it may affect the Town.

New Business:

• Review of First Reports of Injury since Thursday, 3/4/2021 for Schools and Town.
There was one First Report of Injury (FRI) for the Town of Redding. A Highway worker was struck near their left eye by a branch while trimming brush. They were wearing safety glasses and this protected them during the incident. There was no lost time.
No representatives from the schools were present to discuss FRI’s.

• Safety Concerns and Prevention Measures at the School and Town Facilities.

Ms. Anderson stated that visitors to the Community Center are not following the installed signage and are driving into the exit area instead of the entrance area. Mr. Smith suggested contacting East Coast Sign and creating additional signage to assist visitors.

Chair Deluca stated that there are more complaints about speeding on Redding roads.

Mr. McKenney stated that there are far more parent drop-offs at RES and JRMS, creating a traffic issue. Discussion followed concerning how this could be mitigated.

Next Meeting: Thursday, 9/9/2021 – Town Hall Conference Room – 4:00PM


Chair Deluca made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Ms. Gramer seconded the meeting. The vote was unanimous, and the motion carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:20PM.
