Thursday, 9/2/2021 Regular Meeting

Present: Jeff Hanson, Co-Chair, Highway Department
Zachary Smith, Finance Department
Alice Smith, Selectman’s Department
Douglas Hartline, Health Department
Eugene Burke, Veolia Water
Shaun Donnelly, Facilities and Building Department

Call Meeting to Order.  Chair Hanson called the meeting to order at 4:04PM.

Approval of the Minutes from the Thursday, 6/3/2021 Meeting.

MOTION: Mr. Smith made a motion to approve the minutes of the Thursday, 6/3/2021 meeting. Ms. Smith seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous, and the motion carried.

Old Business:

  • Removal of Tagged Trees along the Parade Path

Chair Hanson stated the removal of tagged trees is an on-going process.

  • Reunification Drill at John Read Middle School

Mr. Smith stated this is project involving the school and the Redding Police Department. There is no update on this currently.

  • WPCC Plant Trench to Mitigate Ice Formation on Asphalt

Chair Hanson stated this will happen in the future. Crack-sealing will be done in the lot to keep it maintained.

  • Covid-19 Departmental Safety Updates

Mr. Hartline provided an update on Covid regulations and best practices.

New Business:

  • Review of First Reports of Injury since Thursday, 6/3/2021 for Schools and the Town

There was one First Report of Injury. A yoga instructor injured their wrist during their yoga class. There was no lost time.

There were two liability claims filed that concerned residents at the Senior Center:

One resident fell when trying to sit down and required no medical attention. They did require assistance getting up due to limited mobility.

One resident fell in a fitness class attempting to catch a ball. They required assistance getting up. They have been seeing a doctor/physical therapist, possibly for other reasons.

No members of the schools were present to discuss First Reports of Injury.

  • Safety Concerns and Prevention Measures at the School and Town Facilities

Mr. Donnelly asked about a lighting request from Redding Elementary School. The lights in question are in their parking lot. Chair Hanson and Mr. Donnelly discussed this item.

The next meeting is on Thursday, 12/2/2021 at 4:00PM. The meeting will be located at the Town Hall Conference Room.

MOTION: Chair Hanson made a motion to adjourn. Ms. Smith seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous, and the motion carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:20PM.
