CALL TO ORDER
Mr. D’Agostino called the meeting of the Region 9 Board of Education to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Joel Barlow High School Auditorium.
NOMINATION OF MODERATOR TO CONDUCT THE MEETING

MOTION: Move to nominate Susanne Krivit, Redding to act as Moderator of the meeting (Hocker, Hancock). Approved. Unanimous.

Nominations were closed with no additional individuals nominated.

READING OF THE CALL OF THE MEETING
Ms. Krivit read the Call of the Meeting:

Warning is hereby given to the electors and citizens qualified to vote in Regional School District No. 9, being those electors and citizens qualified to vote in the Towns of Easton and Redding in the State of Connecticut, that a District Meeting will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Joel Barlow High School in Redding, Connecticut at 7:30 p.m., for the following purposes:
(1) To consider and approve a funding proposal of the Region No. 9 Board of Education for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019, and ending June 30, 2020, in the amount of $24,133,114.

Ms. Krivit turned the meeting over to Mr. D’Agostino.

PRESENTATION OF BUDGET QUESTIONS
Mr. D’Agostino presented the Region 9 budget questions: Appropriation and authorization of the expenditure of $24,133,114 for the period July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020; and Appropriation of $1,916,780 and authorization of bonds and temporary notes in the same amount for Joel Barlow High School Campus Improvements.

Mr. D’Agostino noted as part of the presentation that the Region 9 Board of Education has established a Capital Reserve Fund in accordance with Section 10-51 of the Connecticut General Statutes, and that the Region 9 Board of Education has a statement of Estimated Receipts and Expenditures for FY 2018-19 and FY 2019-20, Estimated Surplus or Deficit in operating funds at the end of the current fiscal year, Bonded Debt, Estimated Per Pupil Expenditures for the Current and Next Fiscal Year, and the Status of the Capital Reserve Fund as of May 6, 2019.

Mr. D’Agostino then declared that the District Meeting is to be considered recessed until the following day, Tuesday, May 7, 2019 until the polls open in the two member towns, and that the Meeting is to be considered adjourned following the close of the polls in the two member towns and announcements made of the results of the voting.
