Mr. D’Agostino called the meeting of the Region 9 Board of Education to order at 7:32 p.m. in the Joel Barlow High School Auditorium.
Nomination of Moderator to Conduct the Meeting.
MOTION: Move to nominate Susanne Krivit, Redding to act as Moderator of the meeting (Hocker, Hancock). Approved. Unanimous.
Nominations were closed with no additional individuals nominated.
Ms. Krivit read the Call of the Meeting:
Warning is hereby given to the electors and citizens qualified to vote in Regional School District No. 9, being those electors and citizens qualified to vote in the Towns of Easton and Redding in the State of Connecticut, that a District Meeting will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018, at Joel Barlow High School in Redding, Connecticut at 7:30 p.m., for the following purposes: (1) To consider and approve a funding proposal of the Region No. 9 Board of Education for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018, and ending June 30, 2019, in the amount of $24,240,492.
Ms. Krivit turned the meeting over to Mr. D’Agostino.
Mr. D’Agostino presented the proposed 2018-2019 Operation Budget of $24,240,492 for a variance of $451,355.00 for a 1.9% year-over-year increase. This reflects a reduction of $242,961 from the previous proposed budget.
Mr. D’Agostino recessed the meeting to a Machine Vote in the towns of Easton and Redding on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
MOTION: Move to adjourn the meeting (Hancock, Coppinger). Approved. Unanimous.
