Present: T. Eubanks, T. Flagg, J. Miller, D. Pattee, R. Regan, D. Robinson

Also present:  Mark Batorski & Scott Towler (Veolia)

Chairman Regan called the SPECIAL meeting of the WPCC to order at 7:30 pm in the Hearing Room the Redding Town Hall.

Discussion of membrane replacement and possible action on vendor/purchase for membrane replacement

Scott Towler reported that conditions at the plant are the same as reported at the last meeting.  The plant is struggling, and wastewater is being trucked offsite at a cost of about $3,200/day. Veolia advised replacing the membranes as soon as possible.

Mr. Miller reported on his discussions with GE (Zenon)’s ZeeWeed500 Product Manager Jennifer Pawloski.  He also provided a summary sheet for the proposal from GE  and a summary from Layne with the information available.  Mr. Towler noted that representatives of Layne were at the plant for a review and analysis of the existing membranes. A revised proposal from Layne as not been received as yet.

Commission members discussed the two membrane systems, advantages and disadvantages.  There were several items that required clarification or further information from both vendors.

Another special meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, August 7, 2013 to further review the proposals and make a decision regarding replacement of the membranes.


Motion: move to adjourn the meeting. Pattee, Miller. Approved. Unanimous.
