Approval of Minutes
- Motion: move that the Redding Zoning Commission approve the minutes of the March 25, 2015 meeting as submitted. Atamian, Ogonek. Approved unanimously.
2.Application #2015-14Z – – Applicant: John Wanat; Agent: Andy Stewart. 2 Long Ridge Road (Assessor’s Map and Lot No. 5 – 10). Request for Site Plan Amendment for plant nursery/landscape business to occupy the former “Country Brothers” portion of existing mixed-use property. For discussion/action.
Mr. Casiello noted that the property is in a Neighborhood Business zone. The primary issue is that property maintenance services are not included in the Neighborhood Business zone. No one was present to represent the applicant. It was unclear how many service vehicles would be accessing the property on a regular basis, as well as the exact nature of the property maintenance service that would be provided.
- HOFFMAN ARRIVED, 8:34 PM, and was seated.
Motion: move that the Redding Zoning Commission continue the discussion of Application #2015-14Z until a representative of the applicant can further explain the use of the property. Ogonek, Atamian. Approved unanimously.
3.Application #2015-15Z – Applicant: Redding Elementary School, 33 Lonetown Road(Assessors Map #21 & Lot #13). In accordance with Section 5.11.2 of the Redding Zoning Regulations – application for a Limited Duration Special Permit for the Redding Elementary PTA to hold its “Raccoon 5K Fun Run/Walk” to be held on May 23, 2015 from 8:45am thru Noon. Previously held May 26, 2012. For discussion/action.
Mr. Casiello noted that this event has been held in the past with no problems.
Motion: move that the Redding Zoning Commission approve Application #2015-15Z as presented. Hoffman, Atamian. Approved unanimously.
4.Application #2015 – 16Z – Applicant: Region 9 Board of Education, Joel Barlow High School, 100 Blackrock Turnpike (Assessor’s Map and Lot No. 32 – 66). In accordance with Section 5.2 of the Redding Zoning Regulations, request for a Site Plan Amendment for construction of a 24’ x 40’ storage building in the proximity of the existing stadium. For discussion/schedule a public hearing.
Motion: move that the Redding Zoning Commission accept Application #2015-16Z and set May 13, 2015 for a Public Hearing on the application. Hoffman, Ogonek. Approved unanimously.
