REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
May 25, 2016

Present: Chairman G. Casiello, T. Ogonek, A. Atamian, M. Lecher, Alternate S. Gagnon, unseated.
Also present: ZEO Aimee Pardee, one member of the public.
Mr. Casiello called the regular meeting to order at 7:30 pm
REGULAR MEETING:
- Approval of Minutes:
-Public Hearings of May 11, 2016
Motion: move that the Zoning Commission approve the minutes of the Public Hearing on May 11, 2016 as amended. Ogonek, Atamian. Approved unanimously
Amendment: page 2, paragraph 2, line 2, the chairman noted that there is no newer part of the barn being discussed; the barn structure is all the same age.
-Regular Meeting of May 11, 2016
Motion: move that the Zoning Commission approve the minutes of the May 11,2016 as submitted. Lecher, Ogonek. Approved unanimously.
- Revision to Application #2016-06Z:
Request by the Redding Historical Society, 43 Lonetown Road (Assessor’s Map and Lot No. 21-42) to amend existing Special Use Permit to hold the annual “Rock and Roll Revival 2016” on July 2, 2016. Amendment would allow for an associated walk/run originating from, and ending at, 43 Lonetown Road on the morning of July 2, 2016.
The revision is to add a walk/run event on the day of the Rock N Roll Revival 2016. The 5K is being managed by John McCleary who also manages the Run for the Cows. The Health Department has reviewed the application and noted that there will be a sweep team in place to pick up any litter. The fire department & EMS will be present for the event.
Motion: move that the Zoning Commission approve Application #2016-06Z with a minor amendment to a Special Permit subject to approval from the Redding Police Department. Lecher, Ogonek. Approved unanimously.
- Application #2016-15Z:
Request by the Georgetown Arts and Cultural Center LLC, 5 Main Street (Assessor’s Map and Lot No. 46 – 83) for Site Plan Approval in accordance with Section 5.2 of the Redding Zoning Regulations. Request to change the use of a portion of an existing building from a restaurant to retail use. Reference is made to Section 5.6.9 regarding donation of land for public parking.
Architect Ann Day was present representing the owner of 5 Main Street/ She recapped the intended use of the space as an art gallery with artist workspace.
Motion: move that the Zoning Commission approve Application #2016-15Z as discussed. Atamian, Lecher. Approved unanimously.
- Application #2016-16Z:
Request by the Mark Twain Library Association, c/o 37 Lonetown Road (Assessor’s Map and Lot No. 21 – 42A) for a Limited Duration Special Use Permit, in accordance with Section 5.11.2 of the Redding Zoning Regulations, to hold the 55th annual Book Fair at the Redding Community Center September 2nd to 5th.
Mr. Casiello noted that this is the 55th book fair and there have been no problems in recent years.
Motion: move that the Redding Zoning Commission approve Application #2016-16Z as discussed. Atamian, Ogonek. Approved unanimously.
