Regular Meeting Minutes

Present: Gerry Casiello, Chairman; Matt Lecher, Vice Chairman; Amy Atamian, Secretary; Commissioner Ted Ogonek, Commissioner Paul Scholl.
Also Present: Aimee Pardee, Zoning Officer;
REGULAR MEETING:
1. Approval of Minutes: Regular Meeting Minutes of June 12, 2019
On the motion of Ms. Atamian and the second of Mr. Lecher, The Commission voted unanimously to accept the minutes as written.
2. Application #19 – 7Z – 224 Umpawaug Road (Assessor’s Map #20 and Lot #45) –Owner William Bishop Trustee; Agent Maxwell Associates Inc. & Janice Parker Landscape Architects – Request for Special Use Permit for Earth Moving in excess of 300 cubic yards in accordance with Zoning Regulation Section 5.5.3. To receive: set public hearing date.
Ms. Pardee explained that the applicant has a dwelling at 220 Umpawaug Road and has purchased 224 Umpawaug Road in order to construct a new driveway to their dwelling. 224 Umpawaug Road formerly contained a dwelling, but that dwelling has been removed and the new driveway is proposed to cross that property. In order to do so, the applicant has requested to bring in 2000 to 3000 cubic yards of fill to level out the property.
The Commission briefly discussed the application; members noted that they will wish to see information regarding truck traffic, and they also discussed the possible need to merge #220 and #224 Umpawaug Road due to regulations regarding changes of grade near property lines.
Mr. Ogonek moved that The Commission hold a public hearing on the application on August 14, 2019. Mr. Scholl seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.

4. Future Agenda Item: Application #19-6Z – 37 Lonetown Road (Assessor’s Map and Lot No. 21-42A); Town of Redding Community Center, Town of Redding (owner), Redding Police Union (applicant). Request for Limited Duration Special Use Permit to hold a “country fair” on October 19, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Public Hearing August 14, 2019.
Ms. Pardee noted a correction in the date of the hearing, from August 8th to August 14th.

There was no discussion under this agenda item.
6. Adjournment
On the motion of Mr. Lecher and the second of Ms. Atamian, The Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 8:40 p.m.
